ABC 15 News known by its callsign KNXV-TV is an ABC-affiliate US TV channel operating at Virtual & UHF CH 15. The station is licensed to Phoenix but it serves the whole Arizona State. It broadcasts entertainment news, sports events, community reports, investigative stories and weather forecasts. It works under the ownership of E.W. Scripps Company, which also co-own KASW CH 61.

Channel’s Overview
In Feb 1975, New Television Corporation announced that FCC had issued a construction permit of the TV broadcaster on UHF CH 15. Later, after 4.5 years, KNXV-TV finally hit the air. The station’s original content consisted of children’s shows, off-network & first-run syndicated programs; However, ONTV, the subscription service, used to air during night time.

In 1982, Channel 15 Phoenix declined a request to increase ONTV broadcasting, plus the channel also wanted the network to stop broadcasting adult movies.
The channel was going through rough times during those days; still, Cooperstein somehow succeeded in selling the network to E.W Scripps Company in 1984, but the sale was completed in 1985.
In 1988, When the Fox network didn’t get the affiliation of KPHO, it decided to approach KNXV. Later, on 6 October 1986, KNXV finally got FOX-affiliation, the first major change in the channel, after Scripps agreed to start a news department on Channel 15.
KNXV-TV started taking ABC content in stages on 31 December 1994; the first ABC show to air on Phenix Channel 15 was Good Morning America. On 9 January 1995, KNXV got hold of the entire ABC programming.
