Availability of Click2Houston
Before moving to digital transmission, Channel 2 News Houston was the only network in Houston area broadcasting on VHF dial whose cable CH doesn’t resemble that of satellite analog CH, because of the interruption from low-band VHF local signal. Hence, they decided to place it on CH 12 on Comcast Xfinity.

Channel’s Overview

KPRCTV started broadcasting on 1 January 1949 with the call-signs KLEE-TV. The founder of the channel was W. Albert Lee, and its initial content providers were big four networks: ABC, NBC, CBS, and Dumont. However, after keeping it for a whole year, Albert sold KPRCTV (Click2Houston) to Hobby Family, who happened to own Houston Post (a popular newspaper in the region) and a radio network service KPRC 950 AM. On 1 June 1950, Hobby Family took charge, and on 3 July 1950, they flipped its calls to KPRC in order to align with the call-letters of its sister radio.
Change In the Branding
After getting the ownership of Hobby Family, Channel 2 Houston shifted its primary affiliation towards NBC Network. After being managed by Hobby Family for more than 40 years, on 22 April 1994, Click2Houston transferred its ownership rights to The Washington Post Company. In 2002, the station decided to change the branding from KPRC to local 2; however, later in January 2015, it decided to remove local and started calling itself Channel 2 as well as Click2Houston.
