About WZTV
WZTV aired its first broadcast on 5th August 1968 from its studio in West Nashville as the first UHF station and the first independent channel in the area. At that time, the broadcaster was known by the name of WMCV. The channel had hard times in its early days and went off-air on 10th March 1971. In 1974, Real Broadcasting purchased the station and resumed its operations, first changed the brand name to ZTV but later switched to Z17 (hence the current calls of the channel are WZTV).

The broadcaster always welcomes new recruits and wants to expand its team. You can become a part of Channel 17 Nashville by applying for jobs available on the web portal, or you can become an internee at the channel. The station also reaches out to various recruiting resources in the broadcasting community, community-based organizations, and various professional organizations to hire new blood.
Fox 17 News Live also attends high school career workshops to attract young talent from high school and middle school students. The combined studio of WZTV and its other two sister broadcasters, WNAB and WUXP-TV, is headquartered on mainstream Drive along the Cumberland River.

The 24/7 live coverage of the station is aired by 1000 kW of transmitter power. Fox 17 Nashville also organizes various contests for its audience and distributes prizes among winners. You can submit your comments, ideas, queries, tips, and suggestions in the feedback panel of the broadcaster. The official apps of the WZTV always keep you up to date on the go.
Ownership History
In 1988, the ownership rights were transferred to Act III Broadcasting, which is 1994, merged with Abry Communications. After a year, the current owner Sinclair Broadcasting Group acquired several broadcasters of Abry Communications, WZTV was also on that list.
