Susan Peters from the Channel Wichita KS is 65 years old. She served the channel from 1995 to 2016, then left the broadcasting world. Susan has earned a few regional Emmys for her journalism in both California and Kansas. Peters completed her education at Western Illinois University and then joined WRAU News in 1978. After 5 years, she started working at KWCH-DT as an anchor and reporter. In 1991, Peters got an opportunity at KFMB News where she served the station for 4 years. In 1995, Susan took a chance at KAKE TV News and spent more than 20 years at the station before she decided to leave her journalism career. However, in 2017, Susan decided to get back on track and joined KPTS’s Hatteberg’s People show as a co-presenter along with the station’s ex-anchor Larry Hatteberg.

Mobley started her work as a journalist as an intern at KSNT during the last semesters of her University. After getting out of the study at Kansas State University, where she completed BA Public Relations, Mobley found a position in Sioux City, Iowa. It was an ABC-affiliate TV channel KCAU 9 News where she covered everything from anchoring, reporting, producing and editing. After serving in Iowa for a couple of years, Morgan became a part of KAKE News.

Frank Waugh: Meteorologist at KAKE Weather

Frank WaughFrank is an experienced weather anchor and reporter at KAKE News Weather who has been chasing weather in Wichita since September 2013. During these past 8 years, Frank Waugh has covered all aspects of weather in Wichita. Waugh conducts weather coverage from 4:30-7:00 am on Good Morning Kansas and 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Good Morning KAKEland. Frank’s experience goes way back to covering the terrible ice storms and tornadoes in Kansas and the Lake Effect show in Indiana. Frank is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist who has been honored by the American Meteorological Society. He became CBS when he was only 23; it is a great achievement. Waugh studied BS Atmospheric Science at the University of Kansas from 2004 to 2008. Other than providing weather coverage to KAKE News, Waughalso works as a meteorologist at Lockwood Broadcast Group, which he joined in January 2016.

Prior to KAKE Weather, Frank was a Weather Person at Gray Television where he served the company for more than 5 years. Before that, He was a part of the WNDU News weather team from October 2010 to September 2013. Frank worked at KSNT Channel 27 and KTMJ Fox 43 as well for 2 years and 5 months from May 2008 to September 2010. Not to mention, his services as a weather Broadcaster at KUJH News from 2005 to 2008 and as a meteorologist at KSNW News from October 2006 to February 2007.

About KAKE News Wichita KS

KAKE 10 News first started broadcasting with the calls KAKE TV (which it has been using till now, only that you can not see the suffix -TV anymore as it was removed in 2010) on 19 October 1954. The company already used to operate a radio channel of the same name KAKE that time. KAKE News Wichita KS was initially an NBC affiliate service with ABC as the secondary affiliate partner. KAKE News Kansas studios were in northwest Wichita’s West Street. However, the station’s antenna was located in Sedgwick County’s rural areas.

KAKE TV News also acted as KTN’s flagship service; KTN stands for KAKEland Television Network. This was one of the regional networks of eight channels that transmitted ABC coverage and other KAKE programs in western Kansas and western Colorado, along with Oklahoma and Colorado bordering areas.
