Beth Malicki is a talented and one of the most senior journalists at KCRG News who has been serving the station right from the anchor desk since March 2005. Malicki jas presented several top stories while maintaining her positions as the senior-most member of the KCRG TV 9 News. She covered the Missouri Governor’s death in a plane crash and a 2008 flood that caused a lot of damage. Moreover, Malicki composed and produced To the Point with Beth Malicki, a weekly public affairs show, that gained her quite a reputation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is because of this show and her extraordinary reporting skills that Beth received Iowa Broadcast News Association Awards, the regional Emmy Awards, Northwest Broadcast News Association Awards, and several other accolades.
Malicki completed her BS Journalism or Broadcast News degree in 1999 at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to Channel 9 News Cedar Rapids, Beth was a Program Leader in Kids on Course. She worked there for 6 years and 6 months from June 2013 to November 2019. At Kids on Course, Malicki supported the kids and students in completing their education without any financial problem. Before that, Malicki was a News Anchor at KOMU News from
February 1999 to February 2005. In these 6 years, Beth presented a weekly Emmy winner evening news show and reported various breaking news events including the commercial Jet crashing in the neighborhood of the commercial city, the death of Governor Mel Carnahan, and the shooting at Modline Manufacturing workplace. Beth started her journalism career from Books Etc. as a Book Worm from 1993 to 1998. She spent 5 years working there.

Jan Ryherd: Meteorologist at KCRG Weather
Jan Ryherd is a morning weather anchor and reporter at KCRG Weather who was born and brought up in Iowa. She became a part of the KCRG Weather Team in August 2020. After a few days of her joining, the weather went crazy in Iowa, but that is what attracts her to be a meteorologist. It was her younger days when Ryherd fell in love with the unstable weather. She further enjoys the fact that the weather never bores her since it gives a different excitement every time. Ryherd attended High School at Webster City from 2009 to 2013. She completed her BS in Meteorology and Journalism at Iowa State University from 2013 to 2017. She was also an active member of the Central Iowa NWA chapter and student AMS chapter.
Meanwhile, Jan was also actively involved in Cy’s Eyes on the Skies, a weather broadcast at school, While working there, Ryherd was a producer and director during her school years. After completing her school, Jan took her first job at the City of Webster City as an Assistant Swim Team Coach in January 2011. Later, she became a Pool Supervisor at the company from May 2013 to August 2014.

Prior to KCRG Weather, Jan was a meteorologist at KOLN from May 2017 to August 2020. Before this, Ryherd did a Meteorology Internship at WOI News from January 2016 to April 2017. In May 2016, Jan did a weather internship at KARE 11. Even before that, she was a WSI Certified Swim Lesson Instructor from September 2013 to April 2016 at the City of Ames. Her other internships include Fox 21, KNJR News, and Hamilton County Extension Office.
