About KDBC News

In the early times, channel KDBC began its live transmission on December 14, 1952, as KROD-TV. It was the primary TV channel in the El Paso TV market. It was established by Dorrance Roderick, proprietor of AM 600 KROD Radio and the El Paso Times paper. KDBC -TV’s unique studio offices were situated at 2201 Wyoming Avenue. Today, it is the home of KSCE (channel 38), presently off I-10.

Previous TV Shows of KDBC

Early projects on the channel incorporated the youngsters’ shows Red Brown and Anna Lee and Bozo’s Big Top. For grown-ups, there was the wrestling program Mitchell’s Mat Time. Conversion of KDBC-TV

The first transmitter site was found south of Comanche Peak in El Paso. The street was constructed to the site, and a 288-foot (88 m) tower was built.
