Colton Shone: Investigative Reporter and Morning Anchor at KOB News
Colton Shone is a news anchor and investigative journalist at KOB 4 News who has been a part of the station since November 2015. He covers the mornings from 4:30 am to 7 am. Moreover, he also handles the station’s investigative department. Other duties are conducting reports for the Pay it Forward section of the channel, producing and anchoring a half-an-hour news program Eye on New Mexico that telecasting every Sunday morning, providing special coverage for 10 pm news, and interacting with the fans on several social media handles. Colton Shone studies Business Journalism at Fudan University in 2010. He also studied BA in Mass Communication at Arizona State University in 2011.
Other than being a part of KOB Channel 4, Shone also conducts a podcast known as Native America with Colton Shone since July 2018. In the podcast, Colton conducts an interview with the featured guests who are a big shot in multiple US industries such as Film, Journalism, Fashion, and others.
Before KOB 4 News, Colton was an Anchor and Reporter at Tucson News Now, where he managed an anchor position for KOLD News 13 during weekends at 5:30 pm and 10 pm. Plus, he also conducted a 9 pm news service on Fox 11. Shone was also responsible for selecting top stories for reporting team, managing social media content and national news feed, and helped producers in producing the programs. Colton also fill-in an anchor role for Tucson News Nows 4.5 hour long morning news telecasts.
More About Colton’s Career
Prior to that, he was a reporter at KPHO – A Meredith Corporation from October 2010 to October 2013. There, Colton used to maintain and produce trust in sources, break stories, and investigate the headlines more deeply. He was also in charge of pitching top stories that highlighted accountability. From January 2009 to December 2012, Shone was a Freelance Reporter at Navajo Times. During these four years, Colton conducted Navajo-focused stories in the metro region of Phoenix. Before that, Colton was a Special Projects Reporter at Eight, Arizona PBS from July
2010 to September 2011. He worked there for 1 year and 3 months. In January 2018, Shone joined KTAR FM as an Anchor and Reporter. He used to anchor evening newscasts as well as the weekend news service, conducted top general assignments, and used Adobe Audition editing software and other software for the work. Colton was also a Stringer at ABC Radio from 2009 to 2011, where he covered national affairs for the national news outlet in the Phoenix-metropolitan region. Shone started his career at ABC 15 as a Scripps Howard Scholar in January 2010.

Eddie Garcia: Meteorologist at KOB TV Weather
Eddie Garcia started working at KOB News Albuquerque as a General Assignment Reporter in 2010. However, after two years, Garcia switched his field and started conducted weather reporting as a meteorologist in 2021. Eddie runs a series You Asked 4 It that is all about featuring creative and scientific means of answering the questions asked by the audience. Garcia works on a series with an element of hope that one day it will become so popular in New Mexico and promote science literacy to everyone. Eddie Garcia completed a degree in Communications from Midland College in 2007. Garcia claimed several awards based on his reporting of tornadoes, hurricanes Ike and Katrina, floods, wildfires, and more. Eddie has always been in New Mexico since his family continues to live in this state forever. Plus, he also acquired a Braodcast Meteorology degree at Mississippi State University.
Garcia was 17 when he stepped into his professional TV Career. His first TV station was KMLM News in Midland Texas. However, it was the work behind the scenes. He did the same job in the next station KEYE TV as a Production Assistant which Eddie joined in June 2001. After working there for 3 years, Eddie decided to hop into reporting career at KOSA TV in April 2005 as a news photographer.

About KOB News
KOB News aired its first programming on 29 November 1948. The license to initiate the channel was acquired by Albuquerque Journal and Tom Pepperday on the second try. Pepperday also used to own a radio network KOB 770 AM. It was the first channel to start operations in New Mexico. However, it was the third TV network to lie between the West Coast and the Mississippi River in Fort Worth. NBC Albuquerque used to broadcast the programming from all the four major US broadcasting networks i.e. ABC, NBC, DuMont, and CBS. KOB Channel 4 studios are situated just west side of downtown in the Broadcast Plaza. Meanwhile, its transmitter lies in the east side of Albuquerque on Sandia Crest.
