Brandon Spinner: A Professional WAFF 48 Weather Personality
Brandon Spinner presently provides weather updates for WAFF 48 Live. He knows the needs of his audience and delivers what they are expecting. He is the people’s favorite Morning Meteorologist. Spinner completed his BS Meteorology degree with Minors Math and Radio/TV Communications from Valparaiso University in 2008. However, he started a weather internship in WGN-TV in August 2010 at his University. In May 2011, Brandon began an internship at WIFR-TV in May 2011. His first job was in Modelez International when he started working as Fill in Sales Representative and Merchandiser at the firm in June 2018.
His weather journey began in May 2012 when Spinner became a part of the Fox 21 team. After that, he became a Morning Meteorologist at KDLT in March 2013 and was eventually promoted to Chief Meteorologist in June 2013. Ultimately, Brandon joined Channel 48 as a Morning Meteorologist.
Brad Travis: Chief Meteorologist at NBC Huntsville Al
Brad Travis is a meticulous weather personality at Channel 48, leading the team of meteorologists since 1996. Additionally, he is one of the oldest members of the WAFF network. Travis did graduation with a BS in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology in 1995 from The University of Kansas. He got the job as a weekend Meteorologist in the same year at KTKA-TV. After working there for one month, Brad moved to KNOP-TV as a Chief Meteorologist and performed his duties there for seven months. In 1996, he finally joined WAFF-TV for the same post; this year marks his 25th anniversary at the channel.

The Wendy Williams Show is a syndicated US TV talk show hosted and created by Wendy Williams and Wendy Williams Production Company and Perler Productions, respectively. WAFF has been telecasting this show for quite some years now. Moreover, the show’s distribution process is managed by debmar-Mercury, and is the first episode was premiered on July 14, 2008, in some of America’s major markets. However, it started first airing countrywide on 13 July 2009.

About WAFF 48 News
Channel 48 Huntsville, Alabama, is the region’s oldest TV network that first began operations on 4 July 1954 from the studios & transmitter on Huntsville’s west side in Decatur as WMSL-TV. Whereas, Its initial channel number was 23.
The network’s originator was a local businessperson Frank Whisenant, also the owner of Tennessee Valley Radio & Television Corporation. Furthermore, the company used to own WMSL radio 1400. The network initially used to take content from all the four major American Networks that are ABC,
, NBC, and DuMont Network. However, its primary affiliate partner was NBC.DuMont got out of the picture in 1955 when it was shut down; the station lost ABC to WAAY TV in 1959 and CBS to WHNT TV in 1963. Currently, the channel serves as a primary NBC affiliate under Gray Television’s ownership, and it operates at Virtual CH 48. WAFF TV present studios lie in Huntsville’s Memorial Parkway. However, its transmitter is placed on the southside of Monte Sano State Park.

WAFF News Services
WAFF started broadcasting its news telecast on 25 October 2010. It the only news service in the market to begin airing news in HD services. However, the network’s only studio’s feed is in High Definition, whereas its field video is recorded in Widescreen SD even after the competitor network WHNT-TV began full-HD news telecast in Feb 2011.
In 1990, WAFF understood the need for a weather forecast in the channel together with the rest of the two primary channels in Huntsville, especially when a terrible tornado hit the city in 1989 and destroyed almost everything. The network built a doppler WAFF radar and started to use high-tech weather equipment. WAFF 48 News Live got national recognition on 29 July 2010. The reason was a single report from the channel got viral on 28 July called the Bed Intruder Song. The video was featuring Antoine Dodson’s reaction regarding the rape attempt on his sister.
WAFF 48 and Raycom Network
WAFF works together with
; a system developed to share important information quickly among the company’s four major channels and websites, providing services in Alabama. In Addition, The network has been formed among WAFF 48 Huntsville, WSFA Montgomery, WTVM Columbus, and WBRC Birmingham, where the channels share data, equipment, or tools, including the satellite vehicles and even the reporter’s news. Together, these four networks cover the entire Alabama state strongly.
The four networks also have created a Raycom Weather Network and Weather Blog with collaboration. Here the weather personalities from all four channels post their respective forecast of the day and storm reports. Plus, they also provide live footage from all the cams operated by these stations. The website also shows the live weather radars of WAFF 48 News, WBRC, WSFA, and WTVM. Only, WDFX TV Dothan doesn’t cooperate in this collaborative effort, which takes its newscast from WSFA.
