WATN TV Memphis initially started its services on 10th September 1978. Tegna Inc. (Tegna Memphis Broadcasting, Inc.) is the owner of WANT-TV as part of a duopoly with WLMT. Channel 24 News Memphis carries most of the ABC network schedule programs. The television station discontinued regular analog programming on 12th June 2009. However, the digital signal remained on its pre-transition UHF channel 25, using PSIP to display as 24.
