John Carter is the senior news anchor at WBTV News 3 in Charlotte, NC. Previously, he started working at WBTV as a news assistant. John performed several roles at WBTV like general assignment reporter, Western Bureau Chief/reporter, news producer/managing editor, and some others. WBTV News 3 was the first TV channel in the Carolinas. Since 1949, the channel reached a commitment to the communities they serve in Charlotte and beyond. At present, WBTV broadcasts 40½ hours of locally produced newscasts every week. It includes 6½ hours every weekday and four hours every Saturday and Sunday. Whereas, for most of its first thirty years on the air, the station’s newscasts dominated the Nielsen ratings in Charlotte. The station debuted an hour-long 04:00 pm newscast in September 2010.
Furthermore, WBTV started producing a two-hour extension of its weekday morning newscast on 22nd January 2014.
