More About Fox 43 York 

WPMT Fox43 News first hit the waves on 21 December 1952 as an ABC-affiliate with the call-signs WSBA-TV. Susquehanna Radio Corporation was the original owner of the network, who also happened to co-own WSBA AM radio.

In 1961, WSBA (now WPMT Fox 43 News) got a CBS affiliation and partnered with WLYH-TV in Lebanon and WHP-TV in Harrisburg to build a keystone network. The network flipped its call-signs from WSBA to WPMT, the current ones, when in April 1983, Susquehanna Radio Corporation decided to sell it to Mohawk Broadcasting based in Idaho. WPMT remained a typical UHF independent network with schedule targeting movies, sitcoms, cartoons, westerns, sports, and dramas.

Change in Ownership Affiliation with Fox

In 1986, Channel 43 live stream started operating under the new ownership Renaissance Broadcasting, and it was the same year when the network acquired Fox-affiliation, which it is keeping till today. In 1996, Turbine Broadcasting decided to purchase the whole company, Renaissance Broadcasting; thus, automatically shifting the station to its new owners.

Based in Texas, Nexstar Media Group announced on 3 December 2018 that it would buy all the assets of Tribune Media in cash and debt for 6.4b dollars. Later, the channel finally came under its current owners Tegna Inc, on 20 March 2019, when Nexstar Media announced the sale of its 19 Tribune-operated channels.
