About WTOK News

The station first signed on the air on December 25, 1953, as WTOF-TV, on VHF channel 5. It was owned by the Southern Television Corporation, the company that was established by Robert F. Wright. WTOK TV was a CBC affiliate but took the content from an ABC Network. It was the second television station to sign on in Meridian.
