Why is Craig Moeller coming back to WVEC?

Craig Moeller is the Daybreak meteorologist and Director of Audience Engagement at WVEC 13 News Now. Previously, Craig worked with WVEC for consecutive nineteen years, but he moved to the sister TEGNA channel KSDK. He served as the Chief Meteorologist at KSDK-TV. After that, he didn’t satisfy with the new working atmosphere and area. Craig returned to WVEC News because he missed his former colleagues and friends at 13News Now.

Additionally, the meteorologist knows the region, the weather that makes his forecasting more challenging for this area. Small changes in water temperatures in the bay, wind speed, and direction can lead to huge weather differences! Besides his responsibilities as a Daybreak meteorologist, Craig Moeller also took responsibilities as the Director of Audience Engagement. He also works with the digital team to connect the audience of the channel through digital and social platforms.

Why did Sandra Parker leave WVEC?

Sandra Parker, the senior anchor of WVEC News, left the channel after 26-years of service with it. She, however, left the ABC affiliate television station in 2016 due to some personal issues. Niko Clemmons

Jeff LawrsonThe chief meteorologist of WVEC News is Jeff Lawson. He attended Penn State, Jeff worked for the Campus Weather Service and also provided forecasts for radio channels. Jeff also forecasted the memorable handling of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant meltdown.

WVEC Channel 13 initially started its services on 19th September 1953 with facility ID 74167. The licensing authority of WVEC 13 News is the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Whereas, the meaning of the call sign of the channel is “We Value Every Customer.”

The Gannett Company announced to acquire Belo on 13th June 2013. Later, In August 2014, Gannett announced to split its broadcast and digital holdings into Tegna. The split, however, became official on 29th June 2015.  As a result, 13 News Now was retained by the latter company. Consequently, after the sale, the TV channel standardized air as WVEC. It was still using the ABC logo on the screen. The logo for WVEC updated in February 2018 with a new theme.
