Vision Communications, LLC, (WYDC, Inc.) is the owner of Big Fox WYDC. Initially, Big Fox WYDC started its services on 6th September 1994 with facility ID 62219. Additionally, the (FCC) is the licensing authority of Fox Elmira, NY. Previously, an engineer and his wife received the license of WYDC Corning NY. The channel signed on as an independent channel in 1995 under the branding Big TV. Fox Elmira NY is also available on five low-powered repeaters two analog and three digital.
WYDC Elmira later, in 1995, joined the United Paramount Network. Furthermore, Vision Communications purchased Channel 48 News Elmira in 1997 and upgraded its facilities. Afterward, it signed an affiliation agreement with Fox; earlier than WYDC Fox’s affiliation with Fox. The network’s programming was only available to satellite and cable viewers in the Elmira market through the Foxnet service. The United Paramount Network programming still ran as a secondary affiliation for some years.
