Dave DavisThe weekday morning news anchor Dave Davis appears on News 3 This Morning together with colleague Evie Allen and weatherman Nick Hausen. David Davis joined WSIL as a multimedia journalist in September 2014. His experience includes fill-in anchoring, reporting, and photographing presidential rallies, hard-hitting news events, and state elections. He was born and raised in southern Illinois. Lane and Luke are David’s two sons. They live with him and Samantha, Dave’s wife, in Johnston City.

Dave realized he wanted to be a reporter when he strolled past the WSIL-TV station in Harrisburg as a child. He has accomplished that dream, working tirelessly to inform News 3 viewers and to impact the community for the better. Dave completed his Schooling at Harrisburg High School from 1992 to 1996.

Dave’s career took off as a rodeo announcer more than 20 years ago before transitioning into combat sports announcing. In addition to his work as an international ring announcer for a variety of boxing and mixed martial arts companies, Dave has been televised on major networks from time to time.

Nick HausenWeather anchor Nick Hausen is on News 3 weekday mornings. Having graduated from the University of Missouri in 2011, he joined WSIL in June of that year. Growing up just a short distance away in Festus, Missouri, he has grown accustomed to the diverse weather patterns in the Mid-Mississippi and Lower Ohio Valleys. Before joining News 3, he interned at KPLR in St. Louis and learned a great deal at KOMU. Even an EF-5 tornado in Oklahoma was witnessed by him as a member of the Missouri Storm Chase Team in 2011.

Nick loves more than just delivering the weather forecast, he also loves educating viewers about the reason and method behind how our weather works. In addition, he earned the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist title from the American Meteorological Society, demonstrating his unique ability to communicate weather information effectively.

In addition to his love of the weather, Nick enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, hiking or hunting ducks and geese. Aside from Nick and his wife Hilary, his family includes his daughter Harper, his cat Peaches, and their dogs Jet & Jackson.

December 1, 1953 marked WSIL’s first day of operation. Initially broadcasting on UHF channel 22, it switched to VHF channel 3 in March 1959, just as many other UHF stations had done. Studios for WSIL-TV are located in Carterville on Country Aire Drive (IL 13), while its transmitter is situated in Creal Springs.
