Channel 12 News Flint initially started its services on 12th October 1958 with facility ID 21735. While the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the ABC12 News’ licensing authority. is the owner of WJRT TV 12. The channel broadcasts thirty kilowatts of power from a one-thousand-foot tower located on Burt Road in Albee Township, Michigan. Additionally, the only TV channel in the Flint/Tri-Cities market headquartered in Flint city.
It tends to focus local news stories and events on Genesee and Flint County. During the 1970s, WJRT News became the highest-related Mid-Michigan TV channel of Mid-Michigan. The channel received a construction permit in June 2008 for post-transition digital facilities.
