About WDHN News

WDHN News was the area’s 2nd TV service that started airing on 7 August 1970. It was broadcasted on UHF CH 18. The network initially used to work under the partnership of a Businessperson, Bett Slingluff, Jr., and other local investors. However, before WDHN TV, the Dothan Market used to depend on WTVY for carrying all the primary broadcast networks, including NBC, ABC, and CBS. In 1979, Bett decided to sell WDHN News to HI HO Television that also happened to possess WVGA News.

Later in 1986, HI Ho sold both of its multimedia properties to Morris Multimedia. In 1998 the channel dropped a suffix -TV from the branding. The channel was finally purchased by Nexstar Media in 2003, along with KARK News.  Currently, it is primary affiliated with ABC and secondary affiliated with Court TV Mystery, Coz TV, Laff, and Dabl.
