NBC affiliate WSTM-TV produced a thirty-minute prime-time newscast on WSYT from 1996 until 2000 through a news share agreement. The show is called Fox 68 News at 10:00. Channel 68 Syracuse established a new outsourcing agreement with CBS outlet WTVH after the renewal arrangement failure with WSTM-TV. Therefore, a new nightly news program started broadcasting on the channel with the name Fox 68 Eyewitness News at 10:00.
Ultimately, an hour-long weekday morning show debuted and was named Fox 68 Eyewitness News at 07:00. Both these shows featured the same branding as the newscast of WTVH did at that time. Whereas, in 2003, WSTM-TV brought back its own half-hour newscast to offer competition in the 10:00 o’clock slot. Though, WTVH stopped producing all local news programming for WSYT Fox 68 to focus on its own newscasts.

About WSYT
WSYT Channel 68 News is an entertainment TV channel, and don’t share any news. The goal of the station is to open dialogue with the viewers. WSYT also provides an online community where people can express themselves and interact with each other. (Bristlecone Broadcasting LLC) is the owner of DirecTV Fox Syracuse. Initially, the channel started its services on 15th February 1986 with facility ID 40758 with a proper WSYT schedule. The station’s General Manager Don O’Connor manages all the operations within Fox 68 Syracuse.
Fox Syracuse Channel operates a 3rd digital subchannel affiliated with MyNetworkTV or, in other words, My 43. Furthermore, WSYT 68 uses virtual channel 43.1, previously operated by separately licensed WNYS TV until January 2020. At that time, Cox Media Group turned in the license of WNYS-TV and merged its subchannels onto WSYT’s spectrum. The television channel was originally assigned with the call letters WKAF and available on UHF channel 62 instead of 68. Sinclair will continue to own the studios of the channel on James Street and its transmitter located in Otisco.
