After working over twenty years and working the Storm Team, Jim became Chief Meteorologist of WSYR Com News Channel 9. He joined the news channel almost thirty-five years ago. Jim joined the station as an internee when he was a student at East Syracuse Minoa, high school. Previously, he was an on-air meteorologist in Burlington, Vermont and Portland, Maine before joining Storm Team in 1995.

NewsChannel 9 Syracuse NY added a prime-time newscast weeknight on 7th September 2010 at 10:00 on WSYR-DT2.
