Nexstar Media Group (Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc.) is the owner of KTSM News Channel 9. It initially started its services on 4th January. 1953 with facility ID 67760. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the licensing authority of KTSM TV. The television station serves the community with quality programming, sports, local news, and weather forecast.
At present, it broadcasts 24.5 hours of locally produced newscasts every week. It broadcasts 4.5 hours on normal weekdays and one hour on weekends. On 3rd August 2008, KTSM became the first channel in El Paso to start broadcasting local newscasts in HD.
